I'm running Sony PRS-T1 ebook reader.
Because it's just 6' device, I was not sure it would be enjoyable or not.
While this book is for melodic instrument - trumpet and furthermore it's a kind of method rather than songbook, it's quite readable.
I'm quite satisfied with this kindle edition.
Vizzutti's book itself does not need more review.

This is a great book for any aspiring trumpet player. I used it for Regionals this past year, and though the piece was very challenging it came out phenomenal. Great condition and I would recommend it to any trumpet player.

Grandson loves his trumpet

Our grandson started playing the trombone 3 years ago. He is doing very nicely with it; but preferred to try the trumpet. This year I bought him the 3 trumpet books so he can help himself and review what he knows. He is doing great with the trumpet now. He hopes to play in the high school marching band with either the trumpet or trombone. Then he plans to go to OSU and be with TBDBITL.

Life Transformation that LASTS!

Barb Raveling takes the principle found in Romans 12:2...that of being transformed by the renewing of our minds...and makes it practical and doable. This bible study can be completed in 20-40 minutes each day and of all the bible studies I have ever done (and there have been many) I feel like it is the most effective--the most results "bang" for your time investment "buck!" If you work carefully through this study and invite God to change you, even as you cooperate with him, you won't be disappointed. I am very picky about the "weight loss" bible studies and devotionals that I use, let alone endorse, because of being heavily involved in the Thin Within ministry, but I endorse this material HEARTILY and recommend it for anyone who has any sort of desire or need for boundaries with their eating--even non-dieting, intuitive, mindful eating sorts. Barb has done a great job of (typically) avoiding dieting jargon that will trigger those of us with challenging dieting pasts, even while being "dieter friendly." How she does that so artfully, only the Holy Spirit knows. :-) Whether you are involved in a true blue diet or have broken free from counting anything ever again and just want to embrace eating according to physical hunger and satisfaction, Barb's material is a "must have!" You won't regret the investment of your time and money!

I've gained and lost the same 15-25 pounds countless times. This study helped me to identify that, though I've prayed about this some, I hadn't truly surrendered myself to the Lord in this area. The hard truth I was confronted with was, I'm prideful and want to do things the way I think is best. This study has been invaluable thus far in leading me to the only One who can truly free me from this bondage I've created for myself. I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone that is ready to admit to the Lord, "I cannot do this; You must!"

Compelling study-Biblical approach that provides the tools to help you overcome your food/body image/eating issues!

After purchasing and utilizing Barb's other book, I Deserve a Donut and other lies that make you eat, I was compelled to try this Bible Study. It is amazing and really makes you consider why you do what you do when it comes to eating issues. Totally Bibilical approach that makes me sit and think and discuss the material in the study with God. The review questions are powerful and eye opening. I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever struggled with food and weight issues. Life changing!

Ignore the negative reviews - it's worth a few bucks to judge for yourself

Let me start by saying I have been an Amazon customer for twenty years and I have *never* reviewed anything before. But I consider this book to important for me to keep my mouth shut. It was a life-changer for me. Don't know why some reviewers are saying it is not helpful for people with severe depression - maybe some people with severe depression need a different approach, but let me speak for the rest of us. I was having suicidal thoughts, and on the highest doses of meds available. I was also in therapy. I tried two different therapists, both of whom wanted to talk about other people in my life - my parents, my husband, etc. - which was not helping me at all. I was at my wit's end, really scared that I was going to hurt myself if things didn't get better soon, when a friend recommended this book. You have to do the exercises - yes, they seem silly, but if they work, who the heck cares? Get a nice little notebook and a pen that you enjoy writing with. I made mine a sort of journal that I doodled in and added little inspirational quotes here and there. And yes, it is deceptively simple. Again, who cares? If standing on my head and whistling "Dixie" would have made me feel this much better, I'd be doing that, too. I started reading the book a month ago. I do not do all the excercises, but I did try all of them. I do what works for me. It's also true that there is the usual filler crap that you get in self-help books "Janet is a 40-year old dental assistant who came to me in 2005 suffering from..." blah, blah, blah. Just skip it. My depression is so much better that I am shocked. I am no longer thinking about suicide, and I am actually able to picture a future that is not completely empty and black. A future!!!!!! I have not had a future in years! I can't express what that means to me, but if you have depression, I don't have to. Try the book. If it doesn't work, I hope you will try something else, and keep on trying. You are not alone, and you deserve to be happy.

As a psych undergrad, I walked through the preliminary portions of this book with a friend who needed it, and (lo and behold) discovered that I, too, had been carrying around a few fixed notions that might have been affecting my mood. While not a clinical level ailment for me, it really WAS empowering, even for "every day people" to get a handle on some of the things that affect your mood.

This book is a defacto, established, well-accepted TOOL for optimizing your mood and helping those with clinical depression to truly and effectively overcome their emotional burdens.

As the author outlines in the introduction, this book is, itself, the medicine. Clinically trialed and proven to have a more effective result set than medication alone, the methodology of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is broadly accepted at every level of therapy.

YOU NEED THIS BOOK!!!!!

This book is awesome. It makes sense, and is written in understandable, everyday language. The exercises are specific and helpful (except for the "clicker" recommendation. It's not that wearing a clicker to give yourself credit for positive outcomes is a bad idea, it's just that you would need clickers from shoulder to wrist to follow Dr. Burns' advice to the letter. That's a very nit-picky point about a life-changing manual, though.) Anyway, this book has given me a totally different perspective on life and the problems it contains, and I'm deeply, deeply grateful to Dr. Burns for the improvement he has made in my life. If I had access to a competent cognitive behavioral therapist I think I could escape depression entirely, but this book has made a huge dent in my mood and personality disorders and I highly recommend it.

One of the best Science Fiction stories ever written.

This is the precursor to the Clarke novel "City and the Stars". I originally read this while still in elementary school and it was the first sci-fi I had ever read. No other has ever topped it.
Clarke forms a world in the very distant future whose inhabitants live for hundreds of years on a ravaged planet earth in the oasis of the city. The city is an incredibly advanced utopia but an island of machines and somewhat bored inhabitants.
The main protaganist is the youngest member of the community who ventures out into a voyage of discovery and onto another community which has also survived the ravages of time. The reuniting of the two tribes of mankind each a distinct culture at opposite ends of the spectrum is problem and goal of "Against the Fall of Night".
This is science fiction storytelling at its best. A great story and a must have for all fans of the genre.

A masterpiece preceding The City and The Stars

Arthur C. Clarke's masterpiece The City and The Stars (which I'm glad to note is back in print, which is loooooong overdue), is, in fact, an extended version of this early Clarke masterpiece. The City and The Stars is widely considered one of the greatest science fiction novels ever written, and with good reason. And, although I would agree with Clarke in saying that the later novel is the better of the two, this is a certifiable masterpiece in itself. Most all science fiction is, inevitably, set in the future, but this book is set in the far, far, far future. The world Clarke posits is a logical one, and is great as both a story and a warning. Far from being a dystopia, the city of Diaspar in the book is the genuinely archetypal Utopia. It is into this stagnant, decadent setting that Clarke creates one of his grandest visions. This book is sweeping in its vision and its prose. Clarke has always had a deft poetic touch, and this story contains some of his most beautiful outpourings of words. An absolutely essential read for any science fiction fan, as is the novel that it bequeathed.

Technically Clarke's first novel?

As I understand it, Clarke started plotting this novel out early in WW2 before he volunteered for the RAF. This would then technically make it his earliest novel- even though it didn't get published until 1953 by the legendary Gnome Press (first of the dedicated science fiction publishing houses.)

Clarke would later feel compelled to extensively rewrite this novel and release it under a different title (The City and the Stars.) Personally I prefer this version. The Technology is set over a ten billion years into the future so a mere 50 years or so since it was first published doesn't really "date" it.

This book doesn't share the high degree of hard science fiction detail that you find in most of his books. The technology is so advanced (machines never break down and read your mind to know what you want of them)that it seems more like magic. In fact, there is a statement that there are no more engineers in the world of the future since once the master robots started building themselves- and everything else- they were no longer needed and engineers faded away. I can identify with that, why work a thankless, unappreciated, arduous pursuit like engineering if the machines can do it better?

The cosmic sweep of this novel over vast intervals of time and the entire universe reads more like an Olaf Stapledon novel (a British science fiction author that died in 1950 and whose works Clarke was no doubt familiar with.)

If you like old-fashion space operas about the lost glories of the galactic Empire this book still weaves that classic atmosphere.

Disappointed!

I am disappointed! I read his book Healing Psoriasis full of so much good advice and it has helped my husband so much. Yes, we have had to make some big diet changes to help him with his Psoriatic Arthritis and my son with his Eczema, but it works if you follow the advice in the book. The problem with this cookbook is most of the ingredients are ones you are NOT allowed to have, so I have to figure out substitutes. Why buy a cookbook you have to alter to make work when I have plenty of cookbooks on my shelf I can do that with? Plus there are tons of recipes on the web if you search for nightshade free. I was hoping this cookbook would be full of recipes following the guidelines in his book and too many of them don't. So, this cookbook is pretty much worthless to me.

This book is amazing! Literally wverything you need to know and do to cure psoriasis . I have been doing exactly what dr pagano says in this book and it's been 9 weeks today and my psoriasis is 90% better and almost gone completely . I hAd it all over my scalp and ears and legs and it is virtually gone. It's so light in color you can hardly see it and it doesn't itch! I feel better and look better. I have had psoriasis for 17 yrs and now for the first time ever after having tried everything, every topical cream and diet regimen , it is nearly gone! Get this book and follow what he says and you will be healed too!

Enlightening, empowering and encouraging.

All of Dr. John Pagano's books are excellent. Have been using them to heal severe Psoriasis and am seeing progressive improvement of a medically pronounced "incurable" condition. The cook book includes the basic treatment info as well as the recipes and menu plans that simplify a change in lifestyle and make it easier to accomplish. And......this dietary plan works for many other auto-immune conditions and other diseases that originate in the gut. Enlightening, empowering and encouraging.

I simply loved it from the first page to the last

In one word, this book was amazeballs. I simply loved it from the first page to the last. Fans of Quil's stories will be more than happy with this glimpse into the life of one of the more enigmatic chimera's, Sanguine and just how he came to being.
But be warned: the story will rip you apart emotionally, tug at your heart, make your stomach heave and remind you that a bit of hope in the Greywastes is a truly fleeting thing.

We start off with infant Sami who is found dirty and hungry under a deck in the middle of the Greywastes. I have to say that little Sami about broke my heart. He was starved for love and wanted nothing more than to have a friend. It is very evident from the start that Sami is different, very very different from those around him and it is progressively revealed to the reader just how different he is through the first 8 years of his life. Quil writes Sami very realistically, he is young boy and his train of thought is spot on, to the point where I had to remind myself over and over that he is a chimera.

When the absolute unthinkable happens and the true horrors of life on the Greywastes are revealed to the reader through Sami's meeting with Jasper, I was both riveted and horrified, and like watching a train wreck, I knew it was coming but could only sit back as my poor, love starved, sweet little Sami was broken beyond repair.

Quil dealt with these situations with finesse, we know exactly what's happening but he didn't embellish the story for the shock value, this is an integral part of the story and it needed to be told. Through Sami we feel the confusion, the disgust and watch his slow decent into madness.
I don't want to go into detail as I will be spewing out spoilers left and right so I will just say that some of the moments in this book made my heart soar, I actually swore at Quil when Nero came into the story and was who he was, "Why?! Damn you!! Why did you make me love him!" (Fallocaust fans will know what I mean by that)

Even psycho King Silas has a few moments in this story that will make you laugh and love him a little before he reminds us, in a way that only he can, he was then and still is the Silas we know and hate. No, this story is not for everyone. Take the authors warnings to heart. It is very brutal, graphic and disturbing (all things I love in a good read) and it quite blatantly shows the shattering of even the strongest minds when faced with unspeakable horrors....BUT it is also about hope, and love, and family..those ties that bind. Everything you love about the Fallocaust series is in this book. (Well except Reaver and Killian, they aren't born yet!)

Thank you Quil, this book is simply magic. I truly mean that I loved it from the first page to the last page. It flowed, it kept me completely enraptured and turning pages well into the early hours some days. You have crafted an amazing story, that at its heart is a very difficult subject to tackle and you've done it with tact and delicacy. I know will be chomping at the bit and asking you repeatedly when the next one is done!

Sanguine takes you where his previous books didn't

What a wonderful book! If you have read the other books, you will certainly like this one. Its hard to believe, but this book challenges what you already know about this series and its characters. Quil has built up a very specific personality to his characters and has set you up to like and dislike certain people in the book. But like the end of Ghost and the Darkness, he has pushed the boundaries of what you "know" about his characters. Sanguine comes to life and instantly you feel for him and hope good things happen to him. This book routinely "humanizes" the Chimera including their creator in a way that none of his other books have. In the end, you find your self understanding much more about Silas, Sanguine, Nero, and Elish than ever before. This is a must read!

Genius.

I have been really awaiting this book and I was so thrilled and enthralled with this book that I finished it in one day. Poor sanguine, his sorry is one of pain, torture, darkness and the light you hope comes. I absolutely love this book and all the others. Buy it, you seriously won't regret it. Amazing, well done.
