Much more than I expected

This book was a gift, and I was going to share it with one of my resident who is a huge basket ball fan, and spoke of this coach often. As I was reading it to him it occurred to me this can be of value in everyday life and business, not just for sports. The way this man faced the game and treated his players would be a service to all business managers. The way he regarded people should be lessons for everyone to strive for daily. The quotes are wonderful and the players and other coaches that have paid tribute to him really sent a message as what a fair and decent human being this man must have been. This book is not only for sports fans but for everyone. So glad I received this book as a gift, I took away some very valuable lessons.

This book reveals what a powerful legacy Dean Smith leaves!

Wow! Am I ever glad I bought this book. I'm a huge basketball fan and have two grandsons who play the game with passion. I loved Coach Smith's quotes at the beginning. All the quotes are great, my favorite being "What to do with a mistake--recognize it, admit it, learn from it, forget it."
The way his basketball players talked about him shows what a unique and wonderful man Coach Smith was. This world is much better with Dean Smith having been here. What a powerful legacy Dean Smith leaves.
This insightful book should be required reading material for all high schoolers.

Nice book that helps the reader understand an outstanding coach

This book covers a lot of ground. Starting out with the quotes, the author selects some interesting quips from Smith that you probably haven’t heard before. Some are quite funny and others are provocative and make you think.
Of course the associate with Michael Jordan can’t be overlooked and Jordan himself credits Smith as an integral part of his development.
I got a sense of the man from this book and I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. Highly recommended.
